Can't purge parameter names in dynamic block

Hi All,

As a result of deleting a parameter dim that I’d named GRIP (it's a flexible bolt assembly block), and replacing it with a constraint dimension (as it worked better) I can’t seem to reuse the same name for the replacement dimension. How can I purge this name out so I can re-use it?

Any ideas gratefully recieved.

HI and welcome to AutoCAD forum,

you have to delet it all from the drawing then purge your drawing to get it out. after that you can reuse the neme.

don't hesitate to ask for more help..

Good Luck..

Thanks Imad,

But I was kind of hoping not to have to start again.

Same goes for copying & pasting into a new file (the age old cure for odd behaviour), as it loses all the dimensional constraints.

Sadly I think this maybe my only option. Not only to Purge the name but to cure some other random behaviour too.

Thanks

Alan

I have now remade my blocks, copying and pasting into a new blank file. I had to add all the dimensional constraints, visibility states, and table data again, as only the geometry & the geometric constraints copied through. This has now allowed me to use the name that I was unable to purge, as well as eradicating all of the behavioural glitches I was experiencing. This far from an ideal solution to the original problem as it was quite long winded, but I'm glad I did it as it cured the other problems.
Thank again,
Alan
