block with options to select changing size and position of components

I am trying to create a block that will have options to select between two states.

I have read up on the stretch and move actions but cant seem to get it to work the way I want.

Its pretty basic, the first option is a rectangle with text in.

The second version needs to be a longer version of the same rectangle with the same text in it but with some of it moved (effectively putting a gap in the middle).

Can anyone describe the process to achieve this please?

There are a few different ways to accomplish what you are asking.

Probably the simplest would be to use two visibility states.  Make the rectangle and text the way you want them in their relative states  and use the visibility grip to switch between them.

Other options would be to add the appropriate linear parameter and stretch actions(s) for the rectangle and the appropriate point parameter(s) and move action(s) for the text.  You could then use either a lookup or a block properties table to adjust the geometry and text as desired.

I would recommend that you watch some free youtube tutorials on dynamic blocks in order to get started with the basics.
