I want to update an existing project -dynamic block from another project with more added details, how do I do/ I try to copy paste the updated dynamic block from project b to project A, but its not showing the updated features of that block.

is there any other way to update the dynamic blocks.

to be more clear.

Elevation Window dynamic block from project B has more options, I want that same option for Elevation window dynamic block in project A .. how do I do that?

regards,

Kavi

You have to redefine the block.

Open both drawings project A & project B.

Have project A currently open

Do ADCENTER

From here you can see all the blocks in Project B.

Right click on the block and redefine.

Please accept this as the solution if it solves your problem.

If you already have the block definition in the drawing, it will not take any changes you make to that block from within another drawing. If you make the change to the block in drawing B, it will need to be purged from drawing A before inserting it.

If the blocks are already in place in drawing B but you want to reflect the changes made to the block in drawing A, you will need to have both drawings open but with drawing B active, then open the Design Center (Ctrl+2), Open drawings tab, find drawing A, expand it's tree and choose blocks. Find the block you want to update, right-click on it and choose redefine.

This option allows you to keep the block in place and update them without having to purge it out first.
