Apply constraints to a group using only an element of the group

Hello,

I would like to apply a constraint to an object which is part of a group (or a selection), conserving the spatial arrangement of the group.

For example, I would like to make horizontal all the objects present on the picture below, using the red line as a reference for the constraint "make horizontal". Is there a special way to do this kind of manipulation ?

I hope that I am clear enough, Itried to find some similar posts but did not find anything, so sorry for spamming.

Thank you a lot for your time !

Hi @SkOrM94,

You can certainly do this if you make all the objects a block.  With a group, the constraint will not rotate everything but only the one pair of constrained lines.

Hello John, thank you for responding.

However, I can't manage to apply the constraint to the whole block, even when isolating the block, it does the same as when it is a group is there something special to do ?

Best,

HI @SkOrM94,

I think to get this to work with the block you should take a look at parameters that can be applied in a dynamic block.  There is a special forum for dynamic blocks. Would you like me to move this thread there for you ?
