Tell us more detailed what you do. Post an example dwg.

... and do you have the 2022.1 update install? ABOUT command will confirm what you have, get it if it is not.

Yes, I checked. I installed it over a week ago so its not the same problem. Not sure if it worked pre patch update. I still have 2021 installed currently making block in it.

Can't post drawing as it crashes immediatley after adding the dimension.

Go into a parametric block

Add a dimension parameter and it hangs.

Save everything prior to doing this.

Then post the block before you try to add the dimension.

Which command do you use to add the dimension? Here it works well each and all day.

Can you please post a copy of the text window (F2) up to the moment when the program will want to crash.

Yes, you can. On way see >>here<<

(instead of the .png file as shown in the video you can choose a dwg. )

Here I deleted the attachment before posting (It was only an example to demonstrate the handling)

I never used any Drag & Drop.

If you want to post an attachment you can do this:
- scroll down until you see the line "Replay to the topic..." and pick at this line
- now you can type your text (if you want)
- again scroll down until you see the line "Drag and drop here or browse files to attach"
- click at the word "browse" (it is a link)
- now should appear a window where you can select the file which you want to post
- choose the whished file -> pick the "Open" button
- last pick the most right button "REPLY"
- done

I'm having this same issue.

I can create a brand new drawing and some simple geometry - like a rectangle, then try to place a parametric dimension on it and the program crashes.

I'm running AutoCAD 2022.1 and I am consistently getting the crash in Model Space and the Block Editor.

Very frustrating.

@morgan.parkinson  Have you installed the 2022.1 Update yet? If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates

if it is install, have you tried removing it to see if the issue goes away? Point is to start actively trying to figure out the source problem.

If that did not help... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD/LT2022: reverting to DirectX11 fixes similar problems for most users.

Also consider turning off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables: if still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort. Then log into your Account page and report the problem to Autodesk support as explained here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~....

Hi Pendean,

Thanks for the reply. My machine is managed by IT so I can't rollback the update, but I did try every other option you recommended to no avail. I'll see if IT want to have a stab at it.

I noted in the other comments that some other users weren't experiencing this issue. I know I was using the constraints with no trouble a couple of weeks ago, and now it's simply not possible.

Hopefully someone can figure out what might be causing the issue.
