TrueView doesn't remember default plot settings

Hi!

TrueView 2021 or 2023.

AutoCAD 2021

I maintain some drawings in AutoCAD but I'm going to teach some insider people how to handle some printing tasks on their own using TrueView.

There's only one issue - I've prepared custom monochrome plot style table (monochrome_custom.ctb) and custom page sizes in a copy of "DWG to PDF.pc3". I've put them in their respective folders in TrueView installation/run sector and they work just fine except that even though they're set as default in the TrueView options they're not...

Red spots mark a "custom" element.

This is my plot setup inside AutoCAD:

(I've changed both monochrome and plotter settings for good cause I'm never going to use the basic ones)

This is the plot setup I expect in TrueView:

(however I've created copies of those for my trainees to see how things work)

This is the plot setup I have each time I open a dwg in TrueView:

Those are the settings for each property file:

Any input much appreciated!

PAGESETUP settings in the DWG file will ALWAYS override program defaults in both DWGTRUEVIEW and in AutoCAD: that's just how AutoCAD and all programs based on it like the viewer work.

Autodesk for 40+years now gives the file creator total control inside each DWG file (and each tab in each file) over program settings.

it appears you are not aware of or trying to work against a default that is not changeable. Sorry.

Thanks for the tip and sorry for late response on my side.

For anyone interested - its simple:

I've tested it further and here's the behaviour and what I had to do in order to achieve the exact outcome I was seeking.

I've created and renamed a copy of .pmp, monochrome.ctb and .pc3 files in the AutoCAD installation directory. These have custom page size, custom colours and print settings. Those settings are not carried over with the .dwg file.

In order to have 1:1 outcome for each user I copied those files to their DWG TrueView directory - names need to be the same.

DWG TrueView will fetch the proper .pmp, .ctb and .pc3 files by name as settings if they're set in the .dwg file OR its default settings if those are missing in its directory.
