DWG TrueView

Hi,

It seems that DWG TrueView does not yet implement the preview handler feature used in Windows Vista and Outlook 2007. The preview handler is a new mechanism that allows the file preview to be displayed in Windows Explorer or in other applications (like in e-mails).

Do you know if there are any solutions to make the DWG TrueView (or any other viewer) to work as a previewer in Windows Vista? DWG TrueView already appears as a ActiveX component, so making it to be a previewer (i.e. to implement IPreviewHandler interface for it) should be rather easy.

Of course, it would be yet better if future versions of DWG TrueView would support this 'out of the box'.

Hi Dean,

Downloaded and ran the install and it works great.

Question, can this be used to preveiw dwg files in Outlook 2007, if so, how.

I have XP Pro SP3 with Office 2007 installed and would like to be able to preveiw the dwg files in Outlook.

Hi guys

I've been using this Longbow Previewer application, I like it because it fully integrates with the preview pane in Windows Explorer and also in Outlook too. For me it's particularily good because it also checks my DWG digital signatures and tells me the DWG version also - here's the link http://www.longbowsoftware.com/Previewer.php

Thanks for the tip Tom. I decided to give it a try after reading you post - I didn't realize it also does an Audit and a Purge check on the DWG file too! Very pleased with it.
