Modifying object snap settings

I use TrueView primarily for measuring distances and want the cursor to automatically snap to nearest, endpoint, midpoint, perpendicular, centre, etc.

The software by default snaps only to endpoint and apparent intersect. Is there any way of modifying object snap settings as you can do in the normal AutoCAD version?

Thanks

Apparently you can, but it's not through the UI. See this.

Accepted solution

if you want to modify your default object snaps, select the distance command and if you have the prompt "Specify first point:"

type at the prompt: 'dsettings

this opens the "drafting settings dialog" where you can modify the object snap settings.

or you can also modify autocad variables with 'setvar ....

@m_latz This forum is not for AutoCAD and the OP is not using AutoCAD just like they stated: so your AutoCAD-only solution is pointless here my friend.

And that is the longest way on the planet to change osnap settings BTW.

@pendean for AutoCAD you're right, but what I explained is for TrueView not AutoCAD.

If you have a better solution to change the OSNAP in TrueView let me know.

Actually, it's a perfectly valid way to do it in DWG Trueview. Unless you can access DSETTINGS or OSMODE, etc., some other way, it's the only way to do it in DWG Trueview.

I am finding both methods don't work in TrueView 2018. Is it working for anyone else?
