How to change colors to greyscale

Can someone please let me know how to change the colors of saved drawings to greyscale?  Some of the colors are very hard to read and our engineers would like the ability to change images to greyscale.  Can this be done with saved images or only when creating new ones?  Any information would be helpful.  I am new to this so please be detailed.  This would mainly be for TIFF files.

DWG Trueview opens .DWG files. You said mostly TIFF. Do you mean that you have TIFF files referenced into these DWG files? Are you wanting to modify the colors of the vector entities in the DWG or the colors of the raster data inside of the TIFF?

I am really not sure as I don't use this software.  I've attached one sample drawing and you will see how hard it is to read with the yellow color.  I just offered one of the engineers here that I would look into it for them and see if I could fine a way to change the colors.

Are you talking about the colors while in editing mode, or the colors of the print (PDF or paper)? If the latter, I don't see an issue, as the monochrome.ctb file is already assigned to that pagesetup. See the print preview below.

If the former, then you either need to change the color of the layers/entities that are yellow. or change the background color for the editor.

Below are two images. One with a white editor background, and the other with a dark gray editor background.

The black background looks better but is there a way to change the text colors?  Need to get rid of that yellow if possible.

  1. Select an object that you want to change the color of.
  2. Run the PROPERTIES command.
  3. Inside of the PROPERTIES palette, check the color.
  4. If it says "BYLAYER", do not change it, go to step 5 (If not, go to step 10)
  5. Make note of the LAYER name.
  6. Run the LAYER command.
  7. Find that layer name
  8. Change the color of that layer.
  9. Repeat as needed.
  10. (If you select an entity and it actually does have a physical color, such as Green or Yellow assigned to it, then you can either set that entity's color to BYLAYER and go back to step 5, or hard-code change the color to something else)

Another option would be to just run the LAYER command, find all of the layers that have the color Yellow, and change that to something else. There may still be yellow entities if their color is hard-coded.

Apologies. I lost track that this is DWG Trueview. You do have the LAYER command, but you have to execute it from the Ribbon. I don't think you have access to the PROPERTIES command, but you can use the LIST command instead.
