error installing trueview

a while back i downloaded the 2013 version of true view just to view and plot dwg files.

now, the program crashes (cursor disappearing and plot window not showing up) and i decided to reinstall it.

the download goes fine but the installation ends before it begins with the error:

"the normaliz.dll was not found, try reinstalling....."

thing is, i dont remember ever having that file and i am running win xp 32bit.

with a similar problem when i first installed the app i was guided, i remember to download another ****.msi file.

now, what do i do?

yeah, um....

this DOES NOT help for many reasons.

i never did have, or have this file even with the uninstalled version.

i dont use IE, never did.

did NOT update anything.

i have searched 3 pcs (one of them actually running autocad 2013) no luck for the file.

all the links in the answer are either locked, broken or taken down

all the posts i read, say DO NOT download a file of the net.

my explorer.exe is working fine

the trueview2015.sfx.exe (something like this) downloads fine. the extraction process also works.

the setup.exe however, does not.

can you provide just in case a download link for the 2013 version which i had?

um, sorry it took so much time but i ve just been really busy these days.

turns out that a) the normaliz was not necessary. it is only used on the 2015 edition and not for winxp which i have now.

b) the 2014 edition downloads and works just fine provided you update to the latest available .net. if i remember correctly

the sp1 is only available for windows 2003 server and windows 7 now.

c) the installation requires you download at least IE7. this is practically useless. i downloaded, finished up the installation then

send the IE7 back to where it came from. the TV2014 edition still works fine.

d) after some digging around, i found out that a faulty ctb file was causing all the fuzzzzz. although you can still edit, open and save the .ctb file

when added to the list of ctbs and pressing ctrl-p to plot, the plot window never pops up and the app hangs indefinitely. the solution:

just delete the **** file and everything goes back to normal.

so far everything works fine.
