Acad file crashes after downloading DWG Trueview

I run Autocad LT 2014.  I needed to convert a newer file so downloaded DWG Trueview.  After converting the file to Autocad 2013 (the newest version I could see available) the converted file crashed when I opened it.  I tried copying it (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C) and a message said could not copy.  This is bad but what is worse is now Acad crashes when I open an old V2014 file that was fine before.  Please help since this is an extremely bad time to not be able to use Acad.

Do you just need to restart your PC so LT2014 works again?

Ask the file creator to convert the file for you as another option, there could be something wrong with it.

The problem is solved now.  When I downloaded DWG TrueView, it also loaded a windows update.  I haven't been able to update windows in several years now since every time I do, Autocad crashes so I need to uninstall all the updates.  Very frustrating that I can't update windows without crashing Autocad but such is life until I figure out how to deal with that or go with a better solution than Autocad.
