Hi, I need urgent help. I accidentally ran over an existing autocad file with a new Revit file. I need to restore the autocad file, is there a way to do this ?

In the command line type option and look in the automatic save file location. Go toi that directory and see if you can find files that may be temporary save files(sv$) or backup files. Change the extension to dwg and see if you still had the file you need.

Open up windows explorer and find the deg file. There should be a .bak file with the same name. Rename that .bak file to a new name with .dwg. That should be your previous version (minus what work you did last)

Alternatively, go to the application menu (the big red A) and go to drawing utilities. At the bottom of that panel is recovery manager. You may see some other options there.

Do you just mean you created a DWF from REVIT and overwrote a DWF file that was already there from AutoCAD?
If yes, that first DWF file is gone unless you backed it up off your PC/Server. Ask your IT person to help.

If not...
Do you mean you created a DWG file from REVIT and overwrote a DWG file that already existed? That's probably gone too unless you have a backup or you find old remnants of it in your OS's TEMP folder. Ask your IT person to help.

If you’ve accidentally overwritten an AutoCAD file with a new Revit file, there are a few methods you can try to restore the original AutoCAD file:
