Motion of linked components

Hi,

I am struggling with joints and motion. The issue I am having is the following:

I have a component including more subcomponents (linked) that is made as a subassembly. If I insert this subassembly into another main assembly and try to make a joint, only the body without a link will move. The two linked components in my subassembly are static. I can't figure out why...

Here is a link to the subassembly: http://a360.co/2ldKYqR

Is my workflow totally screwed up and the cause of this?

Maybe I should just drop the subcomponents and subassembly thing?

Best regards, Mogens

Exactly that, yes! So make it a rigid group is the way..

Thanks a lot!

Do you have any comments on the workflow I described? Is this a weird way of doing it?

Best regards,

Mogens

I noticed that you have in the design some bodies which you then assembling together with components. I would prefer to work with components in regards with assemblies since components represent real-world parts and serves as containers for bodies/sketches and other entities whereas bodies serves as modeling entities used to add or remove geometry to achieve the final shape of your design.

So I would prefer to stick with R.U.L.E. #1

Regards,

Josef
