Model not updating with user parameters

So I am trying to create a model based on a skeletal sketch and when I try to change the overall length or width, an error comes up saying that it didn't compute. I have tried several ideas and I still can't get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any other parameters or sketch constraints that would conflict with this particular dimension?

 

Can you share the design with us? It will help to take a closer look at the existing parameters in the design.

No problem. I have played around with it since I made the post, I have fixed some issues but nothing I was able to do made it work correctly.

So I found that when a line is drawn across an ellipse at both ends and set to be a certain distance away it will not accept a change to the length. So I had to delete the coincident constraints and rework some dimensions in my design but I did get it to work. Is there a reason why this doesn't work?

This behavior doesn't look correct to me. My best guess is something with this particular sample set of sketch entities is problematic for the sketch solver. Due to the nature of the sketch ellipse, my best guess is that it is difficult for the ellipse to drive the length of the line. The result is what appears to be a false, over-constrained warning.

 

I have submitted this for further review to development via report (FUS-25708). I or another member of the team may reach out  to you again in the forum post once we know more about what his going on. 

 

It might help for a work around solution if you can divide into separate sketches, possibly by using projected geometry to keep them parametric. Thanks again for reporting this to Autodesk!
