Fusion 360 Crash on Startup, AdCefBrowser.exe. Need Help

Really frustrated. I get this popup upon starting fusion 360:

 fusionCrashing.JPG

After clicking on "close the program" fusion continues to load and I get this message next:

fusionCrashing2.JPG

Clicking on OK or Cancel has the same effect:  the warning box goes away and I have an empty design.  Fusion will let me edit my design but I cannot access my cloud data:

fusionCrashing3.JPG

Attempting to close the application will cause it to become unresponsive.

Things I have tried:

  • Restarting Computer:
  • Windows firewall is disabled, added rule for adcefbrowser anyways
  • placed computer in DMZ through router config just to make sure it wasn't blocking
  • ReInstalling F360
  • Unistall F360, Deleting all autodesk folters in appdata folder, then reinstalling
  • Reverting to previous graphics drivers
  • attempting to open desing from A360 in chrome has no effect.

Any suggestions?

Hi Brian,

Welcome to the forums.

I'm sorry to see you are having these problems. While I am not sure of the exact reason, I see that about a month ago another user had similar problems and was able to resolve it by changing his network proxy setting to "No proxy" from Automatic.

It's this post: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/can-t-load-or-save-in-fusion-360/td-p/591115...

If that doesnt work then you could try experimenting with one of the options there.

Additionally, there are some more Autodesk troubleshooting articles for solving network connectivity problems at this location:

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. I'll give that a try

*edit*

I had to set the proxy settings to "No Proxy" and uncheck the "Optimize file transfers depending on network performance" box.  Everything is working wonderfuly now. THANK YOU!

I navigated to the folder C:\Users\kim\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\8556a3e1d81f6c5f0bca3f1440fbfa311d80a809\WIN64 which is the folder Fusion is looking for the file AdCefWebBrowser.exe and the file was not there.  I then searched the hard drive and found the file in the folder C:\Users\kim\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\shared\BrowserComponent\3.3071.11\win64\Win64.  I then copied the file AdCefWebBrowser.exe to the folder C:\Users\kim\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\8556a3e1d81f6c5f0bca3f1440fbfa311d80a809\WIN64.  It stayed there for about 10 seconds and then disappeared.  I tried copying it again and again it disappeared.  I have excluded the file in my anti-virus program, Webroot.  The only way I can get to the files on Fusion's server is by uninstalling Fusion 360 and reinstalling it.  It opens automatically with the install and has connection with your server.  If I leave the program and try to re-initiate Fusion 360, I get the no valid path message and no connection with the server.  This is a new problem as I have been using this computer (Alienware 13 with Windows 10) for a number of weeks with Fusion 360.  I really need answers here.

Hi @Anonymous,

Are there any other Anti-Virus softwares on the computer? Can you try disabling the Anti-Virus (including the running process) and see if the .exe file stays there? Also, what happens if you use Malware Anti-bytes to run a scan of the computer? I was helping someone last week and we ran that and it ended up finding a malware that was causing the .exe file to disappear.

Thanks,

Same problem,fixed it by adding - AdCefWebBrowser.exe form directory - C:\Users\temo2\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\41d52fa717ba4840fb5195487a087e5d0282fc3f\WIN64
in my allowed trough firewall programs.

To allow a program in windows 7 is as follows:
Star-Control Panel-Windows Firewall-Allow programs or features trough Windows Firewall-Change settings/optional/-Allow another program-Browse-/the program AdCefWebBrowser.exe is found in the following folder/ C:\Users\temo2\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\41d52fa717ba4840fb5195487a087e5d0282fc3f\WIN64//-OK-Add

This fixed the problem after Fusion 360 stated that my trial has expired after it checked itself for my 3-years free student version the problem was fixed

No it's not, after that fusion started to update itself and on 80% thee software goes again in the error screen. The AdCefWebBrowser.exe continues to pail up in the Windows Task Manager/Ctrl+Alt+Del/

I am posting photos of the first error which i managed to display after ending the piled up process tree of AdCefWebBrowser.exe in Windows Task Manager/Ctrl+Alt+Del/ in the first place.
and photo of the added exe. of windows firewall.Fusion_error.jpgAdCefWeb_error.jpgadd_firewall.jpg

I took my problem to the Geek Squad at Best Buy.  They said my Windows 10 had corrupted files that were causing the AdCefBrowser.exe to get eliminated.  Although it was a new computer (less than a month old), I let them reinstall Windows 10.  That cleared up the problem and I have not had the issue since.

Solved my problem reinstalled the program deleting cash data with uninstaller application that you can download.
Read post carefully before using software, deletes cash data stored on disk. In my case continued my work using the files fusion 360 stored on cloud.
