Hi Everybody,
Just wondering if there is any word on fusion adding the extrude offset to surface feature? It is really an imperative modeling tool. You can create offset faces and extrude to these faces, but if you have anything outside of simple geometry, say something with fillets or other surface features, the tool body creation almost always fails. That is if you can even manage to get the offset surface not to fail when trying to offset the faces or body. The shell method seems like a great alternative, but it seems to suffer from the same problem. The object I am trying to shell is the front triangle of a bike frame and trying to find a way to get uniform wall thickness is a nightmare. Any ideas?/When is this feature coming.

Here is a teaser:
I think this will hit the streets later this month.
However, I do have to caution: This will not solve all the problems you mention. This uses surface offset behind the scene to create the offset. So, if the offset would fail doing it manually (because the curvature is too high, etc), it will likely fail here as well.
And yes, if the offset fails, shell will likely fail as well, since it uses the same math underneath.
The tool body creation failure problems are most likely a different issue. The "extend faces" option can switch between extending the selected face, or "chaining" onto adjacent faces. Sometimes that can help.

Any update when this function will be available? Definitely one used a lot.
@jeff.strater pin to the top or post it on fusions youtube channel, I Think the question is going to be come up how to use it
