I have twice now downloaded ADR 2011 from Adesk site, twice installed it, It keeps installing in x86 folder. I can't seem to find an option for downloading and installing the 64 bit version. Can anybody tell me how I can assure that I am downloading true 64 bit compatible version?
Win7 64 bit.

Thanks,

Mike

Thank you for your question.

So far, ADR does not have the 64bit version. But the 32bit version can be installed and run on 64bit system.

Thank you for your reply. I had earlier posted a question about  ADR 2011 crashing when I try to open an ACAD dwg file from within ADR 2011, and received no reply. I now suspect it is because ADR 2011 32 bit is trying to use the installed 64 bit DWG True View as its plugin. How can I make them play together?

Thank you for your question.

Which version was your 64bit DWG TrueView? If it is not the DWG TrueView 2011, please download and install it from this website: http://www.autodesk.com/dwgtrueview.

Or download and install the ADR 2011 and DWG TrueView 2011 together from this website: http://www.autodesk.com/designreview-download.

The 32bit ADR 2011 can open DWG file if installed the 64bit DWG TrueView 2011 or AutoCAD 2011 on 64bit system.

Installed version of DWG True View:

SetupDWGTrueView2011_64bit.exe

Installed version of ADR 2011:

(see attached)

Installed Version of Autocad:

AutoCAD Mechanical 2009 x64 SP2

Still ADR crashes when trying to open DWG file from within ADR 2011

I installed the DWG TrueView 2011 and ACAD 2009 in the same 64bit system, but did not reproduce the issue.

Could you please provide more information for the following questions?

1. Did the crash issue happen for some DWG files, or all?

2. Could you please capture a picture of crash issue and attach it?

3. Could you please try these steps to see if the crash issue goes away?

       a. Unisntall ACAD 2009.

       b. Repair/Reinstall the DWG TrueView 2011.

       c. Open a DWG file in ADR 2011.

1. All dwgs - even went back to some old R12 dwgs.

2. Find attached screenshot of Fatal Error message, Although the window reports DWG TrueView, it is occuring from within ADR2011, indicating it is the call to TrueView from ADR that is the problem.. Also attached are the files generated by ADESK's report utility that comes up after advent of crash.

3.

a. I cannot uninstall 2009 as it is a network deployment and our IT support staff is not here.

b. As indicated in previous posts, I have installed, uninstalled, and re-installed ADR2011 at least twice.

c. Also per previous posts, all dwgs open without incident from DWG TruView 2011, just not in ADR 2011.

Thank you for your informaton.

From your XML file, we can see that both DWG TrueView 2010 and 2011 are installed, refer to attached picture "DWGTV.jpg".

Please uninstall the both DWG TrueView 2010 and 2011 firstly, and then reinstall the DWG TrueView 2011, try to open a DWG file in ADR 2011 to see if that issue goes away.

You can also look at this issue and solution in the ADR 2011 ReadMe file from ADR 2011 installation directory.

Please let me know if I can be of any further help.
