Design Review 2018 very slow to open

I've upgraded my Design Review from 2013 to 2018 and now it takes a little while for the program to open. It appears that the program (Design Review 2018) is really slow to open (perhaps over 30 seconds) not the file that I'm trying to open. I've also installed the HotFix but that didn't help.

1. Does anyone know why it's so slow?

2. If there's no fix for the slowness, is there any advantage of using 2018 vs. 2013 that may justify the pain?

Thank you.

I've not upgraded as there seems to be no reason to do so at all unless you are having issues getting ADR2013 to work in Windows10.

@ Pendean,

or you're opening CAD files created in the formats of the past 3 - 4 years

The DWF file format has not changed since it's creation.

Are you thinking of DTV, the other viewer that translates DWG files? That has changed for 2018 versions.

What I have found if you disconnect from all networks by unplugging network cable or by logging out of all wifi connections Design Review 2018 opens as fast as Design Review 2013. What ports is design review trying to use now that Design Review 2013 did not.

Aren't your files on your network server? So disconnecting from that probably hid a bunch of other reasons it might be slow.

Read this other topic about the same thing https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-review/why-is-design-review-2018-so-slow/m-p/7440768#M13995

In the upper right hand corner of Design Review when you log into your Autodesk Account after the new Design Review opens.
Once you close Design Review and then reopen it it will open as quick as Design Review 2013 did.
Autodesk why are you forcing users to sign into there Autodesk Account?
