Design Review 2012 stalled at prepare for installing

I had Design Review 2011 and DWG TrueView 2011 on my machine. I downloaded the webinstaller of Design Review 2012. It uninstalled Design Review 2011, and then just sits at Prepare for installing... I let it set overnight, and it didn't do anything.

See the attached image.

Hi,

Thank you for your posting.

From attached picture, it shows ADR 2012 downloading is complete and the handicap stays at DirectX runtime.

I think this may caused by network degradation of Autodesk website, which should be recovered now. You can try to download it again.

Please get back to us if you still suffer from that issue.

Thanks,

-Dicky

It is stalled at the exact same spot. It's not doing anything.

Could you please uninstall "Akamai NetSession Interface" from add or remove programs and have another try?

We would also like to get the log file (SetupADR2012.log in the temp folder) for investigation, please attach it while replying.

Thanks,

-Dicky

I uninstalled Akamai and tried again, but it did the same thing.

I performed a search on my hard drive, including hidden files and folders and system folders, and I cannot find the log file you requested.

The "SetupADR2012.log" file should be found from:

Windows 7

C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Temp\AutodeskDesignReview2012Logs

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Local Settings\Temp\AutodeskDesignReview2012Logs

Thanks,

-Dicky

Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of the office.

That log file folder is empty on my PC. I do have the folder, but it doesn't contain any files.

Hi,

The screenshot illustrates Autodesk Design Review 2012 component had been downloaded, the DirectX Runtime component does not start download. That is to say, Autodesk Design Review 2012 component did not install completely.

Could you please go to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Akamai\Cache\37309

to find "SetupDesignReview2012.msi.zip", unzip it and install it manually.

And then try to install from the bootstrap again?

Thanks,

-Dicky

Ok. I got Design Review 2012 installed. Now it stalls at installing DWG TrueView 2012. I tried going to the cache and unzipping it and installing it that way, but it gave an error message about an End User License Agreement. I attached the screen shots.

Well, it says the installation has been interupt. Seems like it turns to a DWG TrueView installation issue.

You can download the DWG TrueView installer here and have a try:

Thanks,
