I use Data Exchanges in Power BI dashboards and have never had any issues creating or using them directly in Power BI. However, this week I tried to update a Data Exchange as I usually do — I reuploaded the files and the Data Exchange was successfully updated — but when refreshing the data in Power BI, I received the following error:
“Expression.Error: No items in data exchange.”
This Data Exchange used to work perfectly before. I tested reuploading the same files in different folders, I also tried with completely new files, but I keep getting the same message.
I also noticed that in the Data Exchanges I tested (directly in Docs) , the “i” information icon appeared along with the following message: “This Data Exchange will not be automatically updated because the relevant 3D view will be deleted or not published from the source Revit file. Add this 3D view to a publishing set in Revit and publish the file again.”
I tested using a single standalone file and it worked fine, but when I try with linked files, it fails. I’m trying to create the Data Exchange from a 3D view of the federated model, as I’ve always done, and that’s when the error appears.
I haven’t changed anything in my process, so I’m not sure what could be causing it. Since the issue started on Tuesday, I initially thought it might be related to the AWS outage, but it’s now Thursday and nothing has changed.
I’ve checked other related topics, but couldn’t find a solution.
Could anyone please help me with this issue?
