Data Connector for Rhino8 from Rhino to Revit

Hello!! Regarding layer mapping, while conversion from Revit to Rhino 8 seems feasible, I'm encountering issues with layers when converting from Rhino 8 to an empty Revit file. Everything is converted as direct shapes. Is conversion from Rhino 8 to an empty Revit file not intended, or do I need to make specific considerations when creating the Rhino model (e.g., how to create floors and walls)? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi @h-tsukamotoZ6HPG ,

You’d like to create Revit elements such as Floors and Walls from the Rhino 8 → Revit workflow.
In this process, Rhino objects are mapped to Revit categories based on the layers they are placed on. Since you want to create Floors and Walls, you should place your Rhino objects on the A-FLOR and A-WALL layers.

You can use the template “DataExchangeRhinoConnecter_Template_Meters”, which already contains predefined layers. Simply place your objects on the appropriate layer and then create an exchange. Once imported, the objects will be created in Revit as intended.

Thanks
