Power BI Connector workflow for federated models?

Hi team,

I had Power BI Connector working fine with single models. I get the viewer working fine and I can create viz -graphs based on the properties that are being pulled from the model including the custom parameters that we utilize to classify the objects in the model.

I tried to have the same with a federated model. I created a data exchange from a view that included all discipline models (revit links in the original file) and I could pull the combined view in the model viewer. Everything looked fine except I was not able to pull the properties of the linked files. So I could only interrogate the properties of the parent revit file and not the linked files that combined created the whole model. Is there a specific workflow that I can use so I can have access to all properties (for example all architectural, structural and mep model properties)?

Thanks,

Hi @KKatsaras

Are you still looking for a solution to this problem?

I'm having a hard time with this as well and found this thread explaining a workflow that apparently works.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/data-exchange-community/workflow-demo-on-data-exchange-from-federated...

However it's not a perfect solution...
