I want to share some cool data mapping features have been built into the Rhino Connector! For each of these workflows there's a mapping csv file you'll need to access. The mapping is defaulted to AIA layer standards - but these can be overridden as per your preferences!
C:\...\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\7.0\Plugins\DataExchangeRhinoConnector\Revit_Category_And_Layer.csv
When you load Revit geometry and parameters into Rhino... a dialog box appears that offers you two options
When you send Rhino geometry for reading into Revit... the mapping table specifies the layer to category translation.
Please let us know what you think about this type of mapping feature! If it meets your workflow needs - or you're interested in even more options and control!
How can we map some subcategories like Walls - Material 1, Material 2, Material 3... and so on to some layer names in the .csv file. Such that the different kinds of walls from Rhino go to different Walls in Revit. Does that make sense?
We did try updating the Data Exchange CSV and adding subcategories but the mapping does not picking up any subcategories.
