Hello,
I have this issue I could use some help with
I created my data exchange packages directly for ACC from a Revit file, opening a 3d View and then "Create a Package".
Everything worked fine but when I updated my Revit file the Data Exchange wont update or version up even thou, see image below, it should.
Where is my wrong?
Thank you in advance
Hi @RVIENG,
sorry to hear your data exchange is not updating, but I'm sure we can find the reason for this!
Here are some possible reasons:
Did you ensure you published the updated version of the Revit file to ACC? This can be easily forgotten - you can quickly check it by reviewing the Version of the actual Revit file on ACC. Does the Revit view you used to create the Data Exchange reflect the changes when viewed on ACC?
Did you eventually move or rename the Data Exchange after the creation?
Please let me know if this has helped resolve your issue or if we should have a closer look.
Best,
Lejla
Lejla,
Great to hear from you! I have been following your YouTube channel since the beginning, and it was immensely helpful. I wish I could follow your blog too but I do not speak German, unfortunately:(
Anyway, back to business.
Yes I published the updated version of the Revit file to ACC and yes the Revit view I used to create the Data Exchange reflects the changes when viewed on ACC.
Actually, I have two projects in which I would like to use Data Exchanges but I eventually failed.
In the first one, I created the Data Exchange out of 3D views of Revit files in the Shared folder. I was expecting that for each new Package, when the Revit file(s) in the shared folder version up, the data exchange would version up too. This is not happening, unfortunately.
In the second project, we are not using work shared environment and users load the new Revit file every week. Same name of course and doing so the Revit file in the ACC folder versions up. I was expecting to see the Data Exchange created out of the 3D view in the Revit file version up too but again this is not happening.
Am I doing anything wrong? I start thinking I am missing some important points here.
Thank you so much for your help.
Regards
oh, also when I tried to create a new data Exchange from the new Revit file it failed. This happens a lot too (see image).
Hi @RVIENG ,
I would like to follow up on this issue and create a support ticket, as there could be various reasons for this issue.
Could you please send an E-Mail to data.exchange.support@autodesk.com and share the links to the Revit file + the broken Data Exchange which is not updating? Thank you!
