Automating Geometry Sub-Category Assignment in Revit Using Rhino Layer Names and Data Exchange

We're trying to use the layer name in rhino to assign the geometry to a model sub-category in Revit. That way, the geometry coming in through Data exchange will have a material applied to it in Revit that it gets from the material assigned to its model sub category. Any suggestions on how to do this? Or is it even a possibility?

We tried messing around with the Revit_Category_And_Layer.csv to add the sub categories but it does not work with subcategories.

Hello Avinash,

Sub-category mapping is not supported yet. It is only Layer to main category at the moment. We can add a feature request to the support sub-category.

Can you explain more about how the input of the sub-category you envision in the .csv file?

Thanks and Best Regards,
