A creative space for storytellers, 3D artists, and filmmakers using Autodesk Flow Studio to bring their visions to life. Whether you're here to share your latest scene, learn new techniques, or connect with fellow creators—this is where your story finds its people.
Motion capture for games usually means suits, cameras, studio space and a serious budget.
But, Animation Director, YouTuber, and founder of Proxima Studio, Harvey Newman showed us what’s possible with just an iPhone. Check it out below 👇
He captured performance from a live-action video shot in his living room, processed it in Autodesk Flow Studio, brought the automated mocap data into Maya, mapped it with HumanIK, baked it to a rig, and refined it for early blocking and previs.
This isn’t about replacing production pipelines... it’s about getting usable data fast so you can test ideas, validate gameplay moments, and focus your polish where it counts.
Any game creators in the community experimenting with faster previs or mocap workflows?
I'd love to connect with the games community - we've got some exciting things coming up for y'all 😉 Drop a line in the comments!

Hey Creators 🤗
Wanted to share something from a couple of fellow Flow Studio creators 👀
Inferstudio used Flow Studio while making Daughter of the Inner Stars, a 50-minute animated film designed to be performed alongside a live orchestra. And behind all of it was a pretty lovely goal: to get kids excited about orchestral music and give them another way into the experience.
What I love about their process is how scrappy it was. They filmed the performances themselves, with several members of the team doubling as actors, experimented with mocap as they went, and figured out how to get multiple 3D characters moving together without a huge production setup. What started as a series of still tableaux grew into an entire animated film.
And that film ended up on a pretty incredible stage too, the Sydney Opera House, performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
There’s a moment in the video where they talk about realizing they didn't need a big budget to create really good mocap, and I have a feeling that’ll resonate with a few folks here 😅
Definitely worth a watch if you’re curious to see how small teams are using Flow Studio in their workflow, or just need a little inspiration for your next project.

Hey creators!
We’ve got a new tutorial up on YouTube that takes a closer look at working with 3D Editor + Canvas in Flow Studio.
We walk through how to set up and direct a scene in 3D Editor, including positioning your characters, adding and adjusting their animation, and setting up your camera and composition. Then we bring the scene into Canvas to explore different visual directions and refine the final shot.
If you’ve been curious about how 3D Editor + Canvas can work together in one connected workflow, this is a great place to start.
❓What should we dive into next? Are there specific tools, workflows, or techniques you’d like to see us break down in a future tutorial?👇

Hey creators!
⚔️ This one because it leads with a benefit. Desert duel, bigger runtime.
Wan 3.0 is now available in Autodesk Flow Studio, giving creators longer 1080p videos with audio and stronger reference support for shots that need to hold together under pressure.
Put Wan 3.0 to work in Flow Studio: flowstudio.autodesk.com
Give it a run and tell us how it holds up; what are you throwing at it first?
Post your results in this thread, we'd love to see what the longer takes let you pull off!
