Setup sheet...No picture showing up

When I try to make a setup sheet it does not produce the only thing I really need.

A pic of the part with the X,Y and Z zero position. Fusion in the past has done so but no it does not.

I want to add I did not hit the orange "Need Answer" button.

Posts take long enough to get an answer (sometimes days, sometimes never) and the bright red arrow only makes the issue worse.

Hi @EdDRM,

Thanks for posting!

I just want to clear the air about the red arrow. When a post goes unanswered for a certain amount of time (I believe the threshold is 4 hours) the post gets automatically escalated to the support team, so that's why you are seeing the red arrow even though you didn't hit the "Need Answer" button.

In regards to the issue surrounding your setup sheets, they should be generating images, and I was unable to reproduce the behavior of the image not showing up. Would you mind clarifying for me? On your setup sheet, are you not seeing any image at all, or are you just not seeing the WCS in the image?

I generated a few setup sheets to test some things, and I noticed that (at least on my machine) the image generated in the setup sheet is a screenshot of the design and whatever is shown in the viewport (i.e. if you have selected an operation in the browser tree to view the preview of the toolpath, the toolpath and the tool will appear in the image or if you have a setup selected it will show the stock and the WCS for that setup). Could you try selecting the setup that you would like to see the WCS of and let me know if that changes things?

Thanks in advance for the clarification! I look forward to hearing back from you!

Cheers,

Mike Tessier

Hi Mike ,

Windows 10 PC
In the past the setup sheet would go to Google Chrome then get saved in some unknown place and that worked for a some except if I didn't make a hard copy they where extremely hard to find .
I changed the location of where it was saved so I could find it and that worked off and on for a while.
Then that would save one setup sheet then give a message of http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/computer-aided-machining-cam/setup-sheet-quot-your-file-was-not-found-... when I tried to make a second one of a different setup .I fixed that by switching to Microsoft Edge browser which has worked up until today.

I had the setup selected that I wished to produce the sheet for and also had the the part on the screen in the position I wished to see on the setup sheet...yes the triad was there.

See attachment for the set up sheet that was produced.

thanks for the reply,

Ed

Hi -

If you do a "view source" in your browser, can you tell which image file is being referenced? Are there any other files, besides the HTML file, in the directory?

Thanks,

  Jeff

It just does a search for view source.

Can you e-mail me the HTML file, and also send me a listing of the files in the output folder that you selected?

Thanks,

  Jeff

The browser is showing that the HTML file is in c:\users\owner\appdata\local\Fusion 360 CAM\nc\Presser Bar #660016 Op. #1

The file is called "#660016 Cam v9.html"

It would also be nice to see what "Inspect Element" shows when you choose it after right-clicking on the place where the image should be.

Thanks for the help.

Jeff

Sorry, was traveling today.

I still can't tell what the problem is, exactly. I need to see the HTML file, and a list of the files that are in the directory where it lives.

Can you show me what the Inspect Element (on the image placeholder) shows?

And also just list (or take a screenshot) of the files in the directory?

Thanks,

  Jeff

Hi,

same problem here.

No *.png for part is generated.

Only tool icons are created. (tool1.png).

No image is added to  *.html file.

Is there a log file created? Would think it would be in the same directory.

I debugged and find out that

"modelImagePath" variable is undefined in setup-sheet.cps (line: 574).

if (modelImagePath && properties.showModelImage) { <----line: 574
....
write("<td class=\"model\" align=\"" + alignment + "\"><img src=\"" + modelImagePath + "\"/></td>");  <----- So this line is never printed
}

Where is it defined? ( modelImagePath variabl)

Where I can find more documentation about setup sheet generation: how to access images, maybe get more images from all sides, etc.
I would like to write my own setup sheet to pdf.

Hi,

no log file is generated.

Actually I have not seen log ever.

I always use custom "Output folder" maybe it's related somehow.

'modelImagePath' is an internal property that should be set by the system before it runs the setup-sheet post processor.

The only scenario I can find for this to not work properly is if there's a problem with actually creating the image from the model.

If you can reproduce this scenario, we might be able to do a desktop sharing session to maybe dig into what's happening here.

Hi,

yes it's reproducible.

yes, I can share the screen.

How should we proceed with contacting and sharing desktop?
