Rest Machining Turning

Rest machining appears to not be fully working when turning and therefore a lot of time is wasted.

I have apart that is reduced in the middle, I clear a lot of material out with a triangle tip and then move to a grooving tool with a R1.5mm tip, using sideways turn groove.

The grooving tip spends a lot of time cutting material that has already been removed in the previous op, the rest machining option is turned

on.

Any ideas?

Hard to tell without seeing the file. Is it possible to export it and share it here?

Seems to be a problem with grooving, if you set up a tool to cut from back to front it works fine.

How odd, if you set grooving to be full step down instead of sideways it also works.

Surely this is not by design? - Will report as a bug.

This does appear to be a problem in the software. We are investigating.

Thanks for reporting.

We have confirmed this as a defect, and are tracking it with CAM-6899. We should be able to work on this soon.
