How to move tool turret to safe position

Hi Guys

I would like to move my turret to safe position in the ''x ''when doing a tool change so my longest tool does not hit the work piece.Im using SIEMANS CONTROLLER.

At the end of that tool's CAM path, in the post processor, simply type in:

G54 X-15.000

This is assuming you're using a standard G54 offset, and the -15.000 is simply an example. You can jog your machine to the spot you want the tool to change to see exactly what X value you should use, and this will prevent an error during a tool change if your value is too large for the table. You'll use this both before and after your long tool.
