Face next to slope is not being smoothly machined

I'm loving 360 so much and blown away by the price, so I subscribed for a year even though I only "doodle." So I apologize for the noob question, but I found an operation that I am just not sure how to do after spending literally all day on it.

Here is a link to the part.

So I want to cut a simple ramp along the same profile as I am cutting. For the life of me I can't get the tool to touch or cut along the same profile while ramping up (it won't machine the adjacent face flush with the previous profiling job) so there is a little material left over.

Is this even possible to machine without rotating the part in the fixture?

I realize the top and bottom of the ramp will be concave a little bit to match the tool, but the tool should be able to at least hold the profile, correct? Here is a video of what I am talking about: I saw this post/solution, but it doesn't get me where I need to be (or at least I am misunderstanding it).

Thank you for your help!

Hi @joshua.sniffen

Thanks for posting! I was able to look into this issue this morning and was able to get the parallel toolpath to more closely match the profile of the contour operation.

To do this, the most important step was to enable the Machine Steep Areas flag in the Passes tab of the parallel toolpath. This allowed me to define a minimum steep stepover, which let the tool do one more pass to machine the vertical edge where the stock was being left.

I have shown how I set up this toolpath in the screencast below. Please let me know if you have any questions - I'm happy to help!
