CAM doesn't respect changes made to model

Not working in Fusion that much until the past few days.

I've noticed this behavior in the past two projects.

Create a drawing to make my model. Make the model, do all those things we typically do, add fillets, trim a little here etc..

When I move to the CAM workspace, make my setup then begin to make tool paths.. it doesn't respect the last change I made. Whatever it was.

I've tried saving the project before going to CAM, deleting the operation, deleting the setup, closing and reopening the project before going to CAM, close and reopen Fusion.

Did the update drivers, clean out temp files, stop all unneeded services trick.. no dice.

The only thing that works is to reboot the computer.

I can't imagine this is working as intended.

Suggestions?

See photo for latest. Last feature to add were the fillets. It doesn't respect them no matter what I do. If I select the fillet it will show that as a separate chain but keeps the square corner chain as well.

That's interesting. Usually when I change the model I find that it breaks my chains and I have to re-select, which usually isn't a big deal. Is this a model you can export and share?

It does it for me even if I never created a chain on that area of the part.

This is the third project in the past three days and it's done it to each one. Every time.

I don't recall it ever doing that before and I've been using it for over a year.

I figured out that if I save the project, close Fusion, reopen. It will respect the change.. not every time tho.

Side note: Since my other post on cutter comp in machine or in control. I've been using "In control" and I can say for sure that I've never had such accurate parts out of the box.

Just did a 2D contour on the outside, shooting for 25.00mm, miked at 24.999mm. That will save me hours of jacking around trying to get the diameter of the tool set right in the Tool Library.

Nope, it most definitely is not updating. I would say it's a bug, and an easily reproduced one at that. Not only was it not updating, it also was not breaking the link when you went back into CAM.

I made up a screencast recording what I did, I'll submit it as a bug report

EDIT: I just tried it on a file I'm currently working on. I deleted one hole in a series of many and went back to the CAM window. The drilling operations weren't flagged as needing regeneration, which was odd. Went to Simulate them out and sure enough, the drills were still doing to the hole that no longer existed. This is not good......

@LibertyMachine the other bug that is happening is when you goto post all your toolpaths it won't do it, you have to do them 1 toolpath 2 toolpath to you have them all together adding one extra at at time works all together nup.

Hmm, I'm not seeing that one yet, I'll try it out. I just (last night) posted out a small job with 47 operations. It was comprised of many different setups and repeat ttools and I had no issues with posting. I'll keep my eyes open for that one

@daniel_lyall I don't have that problem, I can select a setup and post all ops or select a few of the ops in a setup.

Mark

Edit might need a clean uninstall to put it right.

I can't post the file or pp yet have to check with the person who I am helping. it's doing my head in, the post has some bits missing from it, I know what resaller did it, it been labeled.

just for fun tested just now it did not fail but the code is well I would not run it.

I'm getting the same problem, and more often than not it will cause fusion to freeze/crash. I find that I have to create a new component from a body to get it to work.

Come on guys. This is getting ridiculous. Every time I make an adjustment I have to shut down and restart Fusion??? (that in itself seems to cause problems as well. I get a warning about security each time I shut down and sometimes have to use the recovery file)

CAM won't see the changes and uses the old position for generating tool paths.

Spend more time trying to "work around" the flaws in Fusion than I do making parts.

Very frustrating!!!

Big update but this isn't fixed?????

Just now working on a brand new project less than an hour old.

Made a small change of the thickness from 1.5 to 2.0 mm. Saved and went to CAM.

Nothing I did would make CAM see the change.

I mean the model was changed but the setup didn't reflect the changes and the tool paths are based on the original model.

Maybe I'm not doing it right.

Make the change, save, go to CAM and it should be changed?

I don't see anything that I can use to make CAM refresh to respect the changes.

I have to either restart or create a new setup.

I went to Inventor and tried it.. BANG. Sees the changes as soon as I exited the sketch, no questions asked, no saving, no new setup.. nada.

The "big update" that went through was an update on the backend (autodesk side) not a software update on the client side. I too am disappointed that this issue (and others) is still present.

No, you don't need to make a New Setup, just edit the one you have. On the first tab, you have the choice of Z axis selection. Just reselect the Z face and the stock will update.

Cumbersome and annoying yes. But for now it is what it is.

But, you have Inventor, so you can use that instead, right?

Thanks for the tip.

I haven't tested it but it should save some time.

Yeah, I think for now all new projects will be made in Inventor.

Fusion is a bit more convenient and user friendly but I think at the moment Inventor will save time.

We did a HOT fix for this one today.

Let me know if you are still seeing issues.

Full discloser -  We do still have one open issue that could have this still crop up if you do an excessive number of undo's and then redo's

Note, I love to engage on the forums. However, I spend a lot of time in meetings trying to help clear the path for our amazing team of Developers working on Manufacturing at Autodesk. So, if I don't respond immediately, it's not that I don't care.

I'm not exactly sure what a HOT fix means, but I am still experiencing the same ridiculously buggy behavior. Model changes are not reflected in CAM. I checked for an update (running a Mac) and none is available. I would try restarting F360, but no need there, since F360 has crashed for me 3 times in the past hour.

Simple test in Windows is showing that this is working properly now, thank you!

Just upgraded from Mac OSX 2.0..2317 -> 2.0.2320 and indeed that seems to have fixed it.

A really beautiful thing to see working!

Thanks. 😉

Can't believe this hotfix is still being pushed, see this thread, if you have a project with a few components and setups Fusion's unusable. I have one PC that's not up dated, just hope it doesn't crash and force me onto this version. We really need an option to postpone updates.

Here's a screencast showing the lag in a sketch, I'm pretty sure screencast run a bit fast so the pause is even longer than it looks in the video.
