Boring on Lathe, CAM toolpath issue

I am having problem generating a toolpath with a simple boring operation on a coupling. Can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Please check CAM and let me know if you can help.

Hi @smg288

Welcome to the Fusion 360 online community! Thanks for posting.

It looks like you are receiving an "Error: Turning profile is split into two or more closed parts..." when trying to generate this toolpath. This is due to your model contour selection - the selected model contour should be the contour that the tool tip will follow while cutting the part. The profiles you have selected are on the XY plane and therefore lay orthogonally to the direction the tool wants to cut, based on the setup you have defined.

One way to resolve this is to not use a model contour! Most turning operations can be done using only confinement, which simplifies the programming process. I have shown this in the screencast below, along with the proper way to use model contours for this profile operation.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
