Hi

Hi Everyone!  Recently released from Air Force.  Prior to that (20 years ago), 15 years programming CAD/CAM solutions using Cadkey for tool & die automation.  Looking forward to getting back into it.

How much could have changed?

Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the forum; alot has changed although I can't say much because I've only been doing CAD for a few years, but some of the older folk say it has changed drastically.

What products are you looking to use?

Thanks for the welcome!  I used to work in a 2D world, developing software to support the mold industry.  CADKEY had just released an API that let us call directly from C.  I'd like to explore the rich API offered by Inventor/Forge.  As a student, Autodesk has kindly granted me access to these for learning purposes.  Not sure where to get started.

If need to license inventor: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/inventor-professional

As for getting started watch some TFI, Neil does a great job: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF7zEkelSRiHB1rOnspaBgQ

I also have a channel CAD\Insight, but I'm a student with zero budget using moviemaker, so very little polish.
