Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the Community Feedback Hub and thank you for joining us here to provide your insights!
In this open thread, we invite you to share your great ideas to improve our Communities, features you’d love to see, share event ideas, etc. Please feel free to share any topic, that you do not see already in the Feedback Hub, that you think should be there.
Please note that this thread is for feedback on the Community, not for product feedback.
We’ll be looking out for popular topics and common issues, and we’ll promote those to their own thread for a deeper conversation as needed.
Your input is so valuable to help us keep improving our Communities—so please take the opportunity to share your feedback with us!
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas. And, please feel free to tag me, or any other Community Manager in your posts.
Wishing you the best,
Tiana.D

I am getting that same red "bad HTML" text as well. Hence, no screencast is inserted.
How about Autodesk abandons this forum altogether and use one of the stock forums that hundreds of others use, one that is made by people whose only job is to build forums. Here is a great example. https://www.smokstak.com/forum/
Hello @wmhazzard,
following that link I somehow got reminded of the old wBB or vB board times.
Nevertheless, we try to listen to everyone here and see what we can do with all the valid and constructive feedback moving forward - I cannot promise that everything can be done instantly but we look at everything what comes in definitely as you have seen now over the last weeks.
So what you would want to see or recommend to look at for improving @wmhazzard any specific feedback, thought or recommendation?

Thanks for the reply @Tarek_K ,
Honestly, I don't see most of the problems that others see except for the screencast bug, a few years ago, it was worse. What annoys me the most now is when users attach photos to their posts instead of inserting them. Maybe, remove the ability to attach image files and add a popup telling the user to insert their photos.
Regards, Bill

Go back to separate Topics for separate issues. Here we are 166 Messages in, and how many issues/topics/questions have piled up? Specific example of the problem: if someone finds Message 18 here with the same question, how on Earth are can they possibly know that it was answered in Message 24? What if a question is answered 100 Messages later, rather than only 6? See also Messages 66, especially 71, and also 88.

Agreed. This "hub" format literally does not make sense, not unlike like the bold black hyperlinks.

The Autodesk forums remind me of using DOS in the 1980's. I moderate two technical user forums with over 10,000 users, and I simply do not understand why Autodesk doesn't just dump their existing platform and license one of a dozen other forum platforms from suppliers who's sole purpose in life is to provide forum tools/platforms. This is not rocket science. Here is one example of a forum that works exceptionally well: http://www.hobby-machinist.com/
I totally agree with the following which was posted earlier.

@rkmcswain it has that 1980s dial-up bulletin boards feel where everyone jumps in with their own topic and nothing gets done as it is all lost in the shuffle.
I had to do a lot of research just to figure out where to post my issue. If someone who has been around for years has this kind of trouble, how is it expected to be used by new users? I think it should be more like the Ideas forums or task based. We should be submitting tickets that users can vote on to implement and have a status linked to it.

To be fair, those type of community software solutions are based on the KISS principle. They only offer a small set of features. However, many would rather have less features that actually work. That said, while I appreciate what Autodesk is trying to accomplish and all the extra features added, we've never had a stable 'final' release of this software. And rather than having a sandbox platform to test out code changes (at least it seems that way), we have to deal with back and forth, recurring ghosts.
@ed57gmc - what are these extra features about which you are speaking?
Since Autodesk does not provide direct support, customers are guided to these forums, so they should be as "KISS" as possible, and I'm not even talking about this "hub". I could go on and on about all of the basic things that are lacking here, but they have been discussed for over a decade, so there is no need to repeat it all again.
Something's gone wacky when a post from almost 5 years ago shows up in the current listing:
[in the plain AutoCAD Forum]
Greetings,
This may not be the right forum but i couldn't find a more fitting place. I just made an account here and i was very very unpleasantly suprised to see the name default to the supplied mailadress instead of the supplied name! Either change this or make it very clear when you set this up please....
Seriously what is the point of asking for a name when you're not going to use it ffs!?!
(yes i already changed it and i feel better now thank you)
@Kent1Cooper - I'm curious as to why your listing says there are (3) pages for this thread, when the thread only contains a total of 7 posts?
I hadn't noticed that -- it's all part of the wackiosity. But in any case, that topic seems not to be in the list around that date/time any more, so maybe the website has been un-wacked, in that regard at least (or maybe it's migrated to some other inappropriate location).
Hello,
Recently the bold characters for unread threads are not visible anymore, making it though to check the new replies.

After further review - the code is behaving correctly - so it must be how Khoros/Autodesk are choosing to render it.
Note the screenshots below show the different classes (lia-message-read vs lia-message-unread) - so forget about how Khoros/Autodesk is rendering it and just tell your browser to render these two classes differently (note my Unread has a green background) - using a CSS tool such as Stylus for Firefox.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply, I use Chrome, how can I adjust the set up? The bold text, blink as bold an return to normal text.
