[OPEN] Open Thread for Feedback on Community

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Community Feedback Hub and thank you for joining us here to provide your insights!

In this open thread, we invite you to share your great ideas to improve our Communities, features you’d love to see, share event ideas, etc. Please feel free to share any topic, that you do not see already in the Feedback Hubthat you think should be there.

Please note that this thread is for feedback on the Community, not for product feedback.

We’ll be looking out for popular topics and common issues, and we’ll promote those to their own thread for a deeper conversation as needed

Your input is so valuable to help us keep improving our Communities—so please take the opportunity to share your feedback with us!

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas. And, please feel free to tag me, or any other Community Manager in your posts.

Wishing you the best,

I'm seeing this huge regression also.  No longer any distinction between read and unread topics?  What could possibly have justified this loss of functionality??

I'm not sure how your browser is rendering it, but Khoros did not alter the coding of the objects. There are still two classes (lia-message-read, and lia-message-unread). You can wait around for Khoros to make a change, which may or may not be to your liking, or just change it yourself and be done with it (at least until such time they rename the classes). See example below.

I can see a new feature... FILTER BY LABELS ... where we can simply filter threads by clicking one of the labels from a loooong list, starting from letter A up to..... Cre. That's it. Seems hmm... kinda unuseful to me.. so far.

Hi @davidpbest,

Fusion 360 definitely wants user´s input and thus Fusion 360 runs a Feedback Hub which resides in the Fusion 360 category.

Hope the links are helpful!

Thank you, but I have not found that approach effective or satisfying.  It's like talking into a cave, and other users (not Autodesk people) come out to disparage ideas and exhibit their own knowledge.  Instead, I have joined the Insider program and have also made some direct connections to specific product managers which has been far more effective and gratifying.

Thanks!

Actually the .mix issue seems to have already been resolved, so just still not all .stl formats seems to be accepted. Thank you so much, speedy work!

There's no need for investigation about the unread hyperlinks not being bold. I pointed out an obvious solution on 10/27.  The css code for your list is(using chrome inspect by right click on unread link):

.lia-body:not(.IdeaExchangePage):not(.custom-idea-batch-processing):not(.mydashboard) .MessageSubject .message-subject .lia-message-unread a {
  1. font-family: 'Artifakt', sans-serif;
  2. font-style: normal;
  3. font-weight: 600;
  4. color: #212121;

Hi David,

Fair point but glad you joined the insider program that serves your approach better. :slightly_smiling_face: Just provided the link where the Fusion 360 Team gathered feedback on Roadmap items and specifics on the Community while also Product and Program Managers are active on the Feedback Hub over there. Just want to make sure I closed the loop here! :slightly_smiling_face:

@dbroad

All items are logged and review and research status at the beginning after reporting. Three are several other teams internal and external that we need to research these with for reproducing and then researching a solution, then implementing and texting before resolving on the live community.

Thank you,

Thanks @shaan.hurley . As I did more research myself, I see that AutoDesk has made typography an issue.

https://brand.autodesk.com/brand-system/typography/

So not allowing font substitution seems to be a priorty over functionality in the short term.

I checked out the how the font is being rendered on the website using Chrome Inspect and the font for bold links is rendered with the Artifakt Element font which is explained on the typography page to be used for body and other fonts for bold content, such as Artifakt Legend Bold or Artifakt Element Bold.

Glad I have my extension to improve readability.

@davidpbest We show the functionality that exists to manage your notifications for subscriptions unless there is more information on the request.

You should be able to manage your subscription preferences here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/user-subscriptions

This will provide more granular control of the notifications.

And as I also mentioned, there are sometimes valid reasons not to put it in a code window, specifically when you want to call attention to parts of the code to show what a suggested change or addition is, such as with color and/or italics and/or bold-face and/or variation in text height.  If code windows would allow those, I would be content.

This cannot be overemphasized.

The code window does not allow the user to add external formatting. The red added to the bottom one was done using regular  PRE tags and manually changing the formatting. Not ideal, or even possible for most users here.

Hi @ed57gmc -

I saw you post and couldnt reproduce sadly. Is there any more detail you can provide us?

- After which time you get logged out?

- Do you / are you logged in with the ADSK account e.g. in a product or on the account portal and log out?

Anything to help nailing this down would be appreciated as so far it is hard to reproduce.

Thanks!

I have multiple forum pages open in my browser. When I activate a tab, I was getting logged out. Today, it seems to be logging me out and then back in. It's working but very slow (about +5 secs) to finish loading. In the attached gif, it takes 17 seconds to recover. That is, my profile icons disappear and then reappear.

Thanks so much for the additional details @ed57gmc ! Also the gif is very helpful and I passed it along for being processed and looked at internally. Can you maybe do me a favour and:

- Let me know the browser and version? (I assume from looking at it that you are using Chrome but just to get it validated by you)

- Also in another browser the same behavior happens, correct? (Just to validate it is not only to the Chrome browser with maybe some extensions doing stuff).

Thanks so much again for reply and if you have time for my questions above this then I can add to the elements you discribed already internally.

I'm using Firefox 91.3.0esr (64-bit). Chrome 96.0.4664.45 (Official Build) (64-bit) is a little faster, but it has to do the same and re-display the icons.
