Revit 2024 - Using "My Insights" home page

Your Usage Details.jpg

In Revit 2024, when you start up the application, there is a "My Insights" link you can select to show you this home page.  The data shown is displayed as tiles of useful information, including:

- Your Usage Details

- Have You Tried

- Feature Recommendations

In the "Your Usage Details" tile, you will see a pie chart of how you use commands broken into different categories such as Model Modification, UI/General, General Modeling, View Creation, View Properties, and Other.  This gives you a quick snapshot of your strong and weak areas.  It will help you and your BIM Manager to tailor training to improve your skills and the Revit team.

In the "Have You Tried" tile, you will see suggestions on how to improve something you already know.  For example, you may know how to create basic schedules, but perhaps you don't know how to create a Key Schedule.

In the "Feature Recommendations" tile, you will see some new features within the current version of the software that you may not know about.  It's a great way to understand Revit deeper and gives you a chance to look harder into areas of the interface you may take for granted.

Hopefully, I've inspired you to try the "My Insights" feature soon. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions in the comments.

Bonus:  The "My Insights" is also within AutoCAD 2024, too.

Great post! The "My Insights" feature in Revit 2024 seems very useful. It provides usage details, and improvement suggestions, and introduces new features. This will help users enhance their skills. Excited to try this feature and also good to know it’s available in AutoCAD 2024 too. Thanks for sharing!

hi @dzanta ,
I could only see Autocad insights for all the category. Where is Revit for "Team Insigts and "My usage details" ?

hi @bryanBYS,

After starting Revit, go to the Home Page of Revit and click My Insights to have it display your statistics.  If you don't see the breakdown and it shows "no analytics," it may be due to several reasons.  See here for possible solutions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your prompt response. @dzanta

While I do have access to Insights within Revit, however, the data it presents for AutoCAD differs significantly. In AutoCAD, I can analyze my team's performance using the software and identify the most frequently used hotkey commands. Is that not available for Revit?

Thx.

Hi @bryanBYS,

I checked on this in Revit 2024 on two machines and it may be a technical support issue on the Insights analytics Autodesk side.  I also checked under manage.autodesk.com for My Insights, Team Insights, etc. and no Revit analytics show...just AutoCAD.

I will submit a support ticket and see where it goes...will keep you posted.  Thanks.

Hi @bryanBYS,

I worked with Autodesk tech support.  Since my applications are NFR (not for resale), my data isn't tracked to show this information.  For you, go to your Autodesk Account, go to My Profiles and Settings, Product Privacy, set to allow all communication.

I will continue to troubleshoot this and let you know further data.
