Hello Forma Community!
October is a busy time, lots of feedback from Autodesk University and other community events. We’re excited to share with you the latest enhancements and upcoming features for Forma, and more to come soon.
For what's new in the product:
- Snapping Performance Improvement: We've made a ~20x improvement in the speed of snapping to certain elements, benefiting both 3D Sketch and the Measure Distance tools.
- Floor Plans on 3D Sketch Buildings: You can now add floor plans to 3D Sketch buildings, enabling more granular area metrics and visualization of interior spaces.
- Delete 3D Sketch Floors: We've added the ability to delete individual floors in 3D Sketch, providing a more straightforward way of managing floor heights.
- Metrics for Areas on the Site: Helps users get a better sense of how areas/surfaces are used on the site, similar to data on buildings.
- Beta for “Dynamo as a Service”: This feature allows for custom Analysis and Design automations, enhancing Forma's existing capabilities.
What’s next:
- Site Design: look for new modeling methods, section boxes, embodied Carbon tracking, and site metrics
- Building Design: getting inside and outside the building at a higher level of detail
- Collaboration: Docs integrations, multiple sites in a project, data residency in more regions, and multiple Forma Boards
