Overview
The next release for the Community Redesign project is planned for February 12. This release addresses bugs that have been reported by the community. Before we dive into what's in the release, here's a look at the impact of the changes made in the Community Redesign project so far.
Time frame: November – January 2024 compared to November – January 2023
- Unique visitors have increased 22%.
- Search remains the largest source of traffic to our forums. While visits from search have remained steady, we expect that the ongoing improvements to our content organization will take several months to be fully reflected in search engine rankings. We will continue monitoring performance to see the impact over time.
- Total visits to the community have increased 6%.
- The average engagement rate has remained steady at 58%.
- What is engagement rate? This tells us how community members are consuming or interacting with the content in the community.
- In addition to engagement rate, we're also tracking how much time community members spend in the Community. Based on the total time members are logged in, we have seen a 4% increase since last year overall.
We are also monitoring how the community grows. Since last year, we have seen an 18% increase in community members (users who have created an account to join the Autodesk Community). This past January, community registrations grew 88% compared to last year.
Why is this important:
As the community grows, these metrics provide signals that indicate areas that are helping the community or areas that need attention. This can help us be more proactive and responsive to address them.
What's included in the release
The following issues have been addressed and will be released on February 12:

Reply text box cuts off the bottom line of text if it exceeds the height of the text box: When community members would reply to a post that exceeded the height of the reply box, the bottom line of text was not visible. While the scroll bar allowed you to see it, it made it difficult to use. Reported by |

Overlapping text on smaller screens: When viewing forum discussions on smaller screens, some of the information would overlap. Reported by @Curtis_Waguespack |

The spacing issue between the Accepted Solutions component and the number of views and replies on mobile: When users viewed these pages on mobile, the components did not have any padding between them.

The arrow to navigate pagination was dropping to the following line on smaller screens: If the number of pages exceeded five (5) pages, the arrow to proceed to the following pages would drop to the following line. |

What's next
We’ve been reviewing the reported issues and feedback we’ve received. There will be a separate blog post on how those are getting prioritized by the end of next week. There will be another release in March that will include a new Industry Community Hub. These Industry Hubs are designed to connect you with other peers and resources in the industry, and not just the products you use. This will also help with improving how search works. Currently, if you want to find a topic, you have to filter through a lengthy list of other areas of the community. As the metrics above show, the community has been growing but when new community members join the community, there isn’t a place where they can see everything the community can offer. By creating these Industry Hubs, new community members can also have a preview of the abundance of resources available and where they can go if they need help or are looking for specific information. Here’s a preview of what the new Industry Hubs will look like:
This animation is for presentation purposes only. The designs shared in it illustrate layout and visual design, but they do not reflect actual content or community members.
We will resume office hours the week of March 10 and will be able to demo the new experiences from a staging environment. If you'd like to review these new Industry Hubs before we go live, please join us during those office hours. @bukola_odunyemi will be posting to the Community Events calendar so you can RSVP to those.
