On November 12, 2024, Mexico City became the stage for a highly anticipated event within the Spanish-speaking Autodesk community: the second edition of the Design & Make Summit, held at the CitiBanamex Center and organized by the Autodesk Mexico team.

This event brought together over 180 attendees, including industry professionals and leading companies in Mexico. It also featured the participation of our Community Zone, where we were joined by two local Expert Elite members, Brenda Chiquito and Gustavo Ubriaco, Community member Didier Ramírez, and Spanish Community Manager Joaquim Moral.

Highlights:

Brenda Chiquito, one of our Expert Elites, emphasized the significance of the initiative and Autodesk's engagement: "Design and Make Mexico is a great initiative to connect with the latest Autodesk technology and network with colleagues in the AECO industry locally. As an Expert Elite, I appreciate the engagement with Autodesk and its executives, as well as the opportunity to share what we do within the community. Many people are still unaware of the full potential of this space, which has evolved significantly in recent years. We aim to make it more visible and accessible to everyone."

Gustavo Ubriaco, another Expert Elite, shared his experience and highlighted the event’s uniqueness: "For me, it was a one-of-a-kind event, especially with its incredible theme focused on Mexican culture. It was immensely satisfying to showcase the importance of our work and the contributions we make within the Autodesk Community space, as well as the pride of being an Expert Elite. Connecting with the community, exploring other areas of Autodesk, and understanding how we support each other was the best part. It created a perfect cycle and opened doors for potential collaborations in the future. Another highlight was meeting experts like Brenda and Didier and witnessing the great work Joaquim does as a leader—bringing us together, organizing, and seeking opportunities where we’re recognized and feel proud to be part of Autodesk."

Didier Ramírez, a prominent Community member, highlighted the event's importance for the Spanish-speaking community: "On November 12, I had the honor of participating alongside Joaquim, Gustavo, and Brenda in the DMS event in Mexico. We had the opportunity to present about the Spanish-speaking community. I believe this was a fantastic opportunity to bring the community closer to Autodesk teams and various industry professionals. These individuals can find valuable spaces for exchange and learning within the community, guided by experts like the Expert Elites. During the event, we showcased forums, blogs, webinars, and groups, which garnered significant interest as many attendees discovered these useful resources. We are deeply grateful to Autodesk for creating spaces like these, where information can be shared, and the Spanish-speaking community gains visibility. I also want to thank Joaquim for his initiative, enthusiasm, and dedication, which have been key to the success of such events. And, of course, my gratitude to Gustavo and Brenda for their tireless work within the community, which is invaluable and always performed at the highest level."
