Text Masking Transparency

Text Masking Transparency

The Problem

We often have limited space in drawings and this means we sometimes have to place text over objects that we need the end user to be able to see, but then this results in the text being less readable as the lines and the text overlap which is undesirable. The obvious solution to this is to add a background mask to the text so that it stands out, but because current background masks are 100% opaque, this results in the underlying lines becoming invisible, but this is unacceptable because we need to show those lines too.

The Solution

It would be great if we could control the transparency of masks of all kinds such that we can highlight the text without simultaneously rendering underlying objects invisible.
