Target mapping - vertical targets

Target mapping - vertical targets

Hello,

In Civil 2020 and older, there is very useful tool to set Vertical Targets in Corridor. It is possible to select alignment first from the drawing and then see all available profiles assigned to that alignment. It is nice and pretty fast way to find right profile.

In Civil 2022 the Target Mapping window is completely rebuilt and now the "select alignment from the drawing" tool gone for Vertical Targets. It is only possible to select profile from profile view or type alignment name (Honestly, I don't remember all the alignment names, does anyone?), so even with best naming convention in some cases will not work as good as previously.

Could you please brinck back that tool and place it next to the search bar, in the neareast update?

Regards,

Artur Kot

Add the functionality to filter profile targets by their alignment name. When you have a long list of profiles and don't rememder the name it would be usefull to select an alignment in your drawing to filter the list. Simular to how the old target window would show only the profiles attached to the selected alignment.

My workaround now is to copy and paste the alignment name from the properties panel to the alignment filter.

Thank you for your idea. Does the filter in the newer Target Mapping dialog not fulfill your requirement?

The filter function works, but takes more effort then needed. The list of Alignments can grow a lot during modelling (I have 30 centerline alignments already + Curb returns and Offsets) and I cant remember all of the names. What I do now is select the alignment and copy the name from the properties panel and paste that in the Alignment filter. But that feels like a lot of steps. An option to pick an alignment from your drawing would save some time and effort and make our (or at least my) life easier.

Thank you for clarifying, @jordi.edelaar . A pick object button would make sense here.

i support this idea. I have also searched in vain for this button!

@TimYarris This is another one I had in mind. Having an alignment select button (to select an alignment from model space) to filter available profiles would be a huge time saver
