The recent improvements allowing pkt subassemblies to be imported directly into Toolspace instead of relying on Tool Palettes have been a great step forward and have made working with custom subassemblies much smoother.
As this workflow continues to evolve, it would be helpful to allow a support path for custom subassemblies to be defined in the Civil 3D profile. This would let templates point to a shared network location, making it easier for teams to access standard pkt files without needing to browse manually or store them locally.
To build on this, a dropdown menu within Toolspace that lists the available pkt files from that folder could make it even easier for designers to select the right subassembly from approved company standards.
This would support consistency across teams and help simplify the adoption of custom subassemblies in a shared environment.
