Map 3D Data Connections

Map 3D Data Connections

When working with databases, whether it a GIS, Access, or SQL, it is standard practice to open the data, run a procedure (View, Add, Edit, Delete), save or update the database, then close it. It appears that Civil 3D (Map 3D)  data connection do not operate this way. Map 3D keeps the database open possibly until the program is closed, or the connection is disconnected, and deleted. This practice seems to cause problems with tables not matching objects, especially when I am working with the same data source across multiple platforms. Would it be possible to have Map 3D follow a the more standard practice of open-process-close? I believe this would increase the speed and stability of Map 3D.
