Create a Civil 3d surface from a Revit Floor

Create a Civil 3d surface from a Revit Floor

We currently receive landscape architects models in revit format and then struggle to re-create the proposed surface in civil 3d.

It would be great if there was a quick way of doing this either in civil 3d or revit. Ideally i would like to generate a landxml file from revit floors and then load them into civil 3d.

It would obviously mean extracting only the top surface of the revit floor for use in the landxml file.

As it turns out, there is a simple way to do this, here is the response from Autodesk support:

CONVERTING REVIT FLOORS INTO REVIT TOPOGRAPHY – THEN LANDXML FORMAT… FOR USE IN CIVIL 3D.

Hi David,

Thank you for the information provided .
My understanding of the requirement is to get the finished floor slab levels and points of the slab from revit into Civil 3D .

You can use ‘Site designer’ add on pack to convert the revit finished floor slab to a toposurface using "toposurface conversion tool " . You then select the toposurfaces in Revit and export the topography to landxml format using the export feature within the ‘site designer’ add on pack.

ok, how can this be done in revit 2022? - the site designer add on pack is no longer available! (not sure why it has been removed - seems like a giant step backwards to me)
