convert line to alignment direction

Converting autocad line or arc to alignment entity should have an option to control the direction of the created entity.

It's a blind shot right now, there's much confusion when trying to connect the converted entity to existing entities with the editing tools (free curve fillet or  other), you get 'no solution available' calls just because you're not aware that the direction of imported line is opposite!

C3D 2018 asks for direction, what version are you using?

Thats's good news, I'm still on 2017 and will have 2018 installed in few weeks.

I don't see Civil 2018 asking direction when converting autocad line or arc for subentity.

After selecting the pline or lines/arcs, a direction arrow appears near the midpoint and you are prompted to accept or reverse direction.  Refer to images below, one for pline and on for lines/arcs.  I took a quick look through command settings and can't find a place to turn this off.  Hope this helps.

That's when creating a  new alignment, I did not make myself clear, my bad, I was talking about the "convert autocad line and arc" option in the edit alignment geometry tools.

OK, I got it.  I tried the tool you noted and it automatically connected lines and arcs to the existing alignment and just continued the stationing in the same direction.  Used negative stationing for under start of 1+000.  Refer to clouded sections of image below.

Acad entity direction matters as it is read when added to alignment.

You can't connect the entity before it is reversed if the track is opposite. Why not prompt in the conversion process to reverse the direction as  the direction of existing lines or arcs might not be known.
