C3D IFC 4.3 Mapping ifcRoot (Name, Description)

Hello everyone,

in the IfcInfraExportMapping.json file Civil 3D elements can be mapped with the ifc classes. I am missing the possibility to define the attributes “Name” and “Description” in the ifcRoot. As a possibility I would suggest to integrate this into the IfcInfraExportMapping.json (see picture, red frame is the suggestion).

If there is already a possibility I would be glad for help, otherwise I would like an implementation and a general simplification of this mapping process. Perhaps this could be controlled as a mask within Civil 3D.

Yes please! I still cannot believe that we can now finally map the IfcEntities with the newly introduced json-files, but there's no possible way to change the name and description of objects?! I know of no other author software that struggles with this - such a shame...

I am of the same opinion and hope that this missing information can be completed in a timely manner.

This would be very very important! No user could really work with json files in future efficiently. A complete user interface for managing the civil 3D properties and the ifc classes would be very useful. And I have customers who asked for this and who must change the mapping and the naming in each project because the requirements are different.
