I think it would be useful to be able to "add a leader" to a dragged C3D label. The added leader would just be for reference, and not need to extract C3D data, just be able to snap to the primary leader label for reference.
example: "slope to transition from 3% to 0% within these stations"
An area where we've wanted to use multiple leader Civil 3D labels is where we have two 45d bends close together. We could use an mleader but it wouldn't update if the structures moved or the size changed. The C3D label would be based on one of the descriptions but have a leader pointing to both bends. Maybe one doesn't update unless it can learn that it was snapped to "nearest" of an object and should therefore follow that object location.
I agree with C3D_TomR on the use case of multiple leaders. Another use case could be 3x4" UGE conduit shown in a profile view, labelling one, adding leaders to the other two. Only getting attribute data from the original, second leader not getting any info. I think this sort of change to labels would be even more useful if we could also get a function as described in the linked idea below, of allowing management of families within the label styles. As we rethink labels, being able to drag a previously created one into a different family would be useful.
Can you please alter dragged labels to have the same features as multi-leaders? That is, the ability to set the way the leader line attaches so that it reacts to the position of the label wrt the position of the feature. The way that C3D labels currently right justify when the leader line is to the right is never how the English language was designed to be presented in my view. If the leader line would react the same as multi-leader do, then this would be sensible and consistent across AutoCAD and C3D AND we can have all labels left justified all the time.
