Xrefs Not Aligned

The Xrefs will not align properly. Scale's appear to be the same in drg settings but something is wrong. When aligned they don't appear to be at the correct scale. I would expect to see the batter surrounding the building.

  • Tried specifying 0,0,0 insertion points when attaching Xref
  • Tried moving over Xref, worried the scale is not right
  • Tried resetting base command, don't like this should be able to select on drg a point and define that as the point of origin
  • As above but INSBASE command (same as base I believe)

Grateful of help as always

Hi @DalskiSelecta,
To fix things up, change these:

Landscaping and Hoarding SSL: Plan >> World
21.12.08 Plot 25 Level Survey: Base >> 0,0,0

Thanks Dave, sorry for silly question - Plan > World - I thought this would be co-ordinate settings under drg > settings?

EDIT: Have not managed to figure out where the world setting is yet so hopefully that clears it up but gridline 13-14 should be 4.50m & I'm way out atm.

@DalskiSelecta,
In "Landscaping and Hoarding SSL.dwg", Command Line, Type PLAN and then click on World.

Hi @DalskiSelecta

Brent Cross, correct?

Your drawing named 21.12.08 plot 25 Level Survey.dwg is good. For drawing named Landscaping and Hoarding SSL.dwg make sure Block Unit = Meters and factor = 1.0.

Do this:

1. Open the drawing 21.12.08 Plot 25 Level Survey.dwg. Next attach the drawing Landscaping and Hoarding SSL as an XREF. Make the settings for (a) Scale, (b) Insertion Point, and (c) Block Unit just like they're shown below.

2. <<OPTIONAL>> Next,use MAPCSASSIGN command to establish your coordinate system. Go to command line Enter MAPCSASSIGN=>In search box enter 27700=>click Assign button.

3. After MapCSAssign, go to Geolocation tab=>Online Map Panel=>change Map Off to Map Hybrid.

Thanks guys, I've brought it in & out more times than I can count. Many times xrefing the same files has resulted in being brought in at different locations.

The latest is one of them showing in top right by display tab & the other way out of scale. When opening the xref independently & running the base command despite all layers being unlocked the base coordinates appear locked.

@DalskiSelecta,
I'm not seeing the locked BASE Point on any of the 3 drawings. Don't know why you're seeing it.
Dals drawing has lots of errors. Use RECOVER or AUDIT to fix.
The other 2 drawings need help:
BASE >> 0,0,0  (Edited)
UCS >> WORLD
PLAN >> WORLD

You might also need to PURGE RegApps.

@DalskiSelecta

The 'BASE' should be 0,0 but it's not. You need to RESET the base so it's 0,0.

On command line enter BASE=>enter 0,0=>ENTER=>SAVE the drawing.

Hello,

another thing to check is the INSUNITS, in every xref and the drawing the xref's are coming in to.

i suggest look it up under the Help Home for AutoDesk and then send a memo to all users.

good luck,
