Why would a pipe not add a label in either plan or section view, just profile?

YES all layers are on.

One particular drawing I'm working in, and the pipe won't add its label in plan or section view. It will only add a profile view overridden style of crossing label.

Anyone have this happen before?

Is the visibility of the label or component set to True?  It could be 50 things, do you have an example file you can share to look through all the settings?
I know that Points have the ability to have their labels controlled in their point style to not have the label visible in plan or section view, but, I'm not aware of a pipe having the same property.

Yes set to true.

I created a new pipe network and placed a random pipe and tried to label that to no avail.

Start new drawing and label pipes in plan work fine using same exact label style. Something about this drawing.

Audit or Recovery make a difference?

I have an icon in one of my custom toolbars that audits then saves in one shot. (^C^C_audit;y;qsave;)

So, no that did not help get me a label. Thanks for trying. If I get some time to weed out the dwg file, I'll post it here to see if you can label it
