Why is my point style not displaying correctly?

So I made a simple block as a point style: a square with an x through it, with a white fill in the back so that it covers the lines it's placed on top of so as to not mess with lengths or bother with trimming. This idea has worked before with other shapes and using text on the inside, but this time for some reason it will move the fill to the front on the point (top in picture). When you select the point the highlight still shows the linework correctly (middle), when you explode the point it corrects itself (bottom) and when you just insert the block it displays correctly. Other points from blocks I've created before and even edited in this drawing are still displaying correctly. Has anyone had this before? Is it just a glitch or is there some obscure setting I'm not familiar with?

Hi Nathaniel,
Something in the dim regions of my memory recalls the order of the mask in block creation is important. Bring to back and bring to front don't seem to work in the block editor, at least as far as COGO point symbols go.
Try creating another block putting the mask first.

It wasn't a mask, it was a white hatch since a lot of my symbols are circles and masks can only be polygonal. I suppose I can try a mask for this instance since the symbol is a square but I'd still like to see if anyone else knows anything about this in case it comes up again so I'm not accepting your answer yet.

@Pointdump memory serves him well it's always been an issue with point blocks that contain a masking. I had similar issues myself long ago, and had to re-create (explode/reorder) the masking and linework. I would say this has been around for almost as long as C3D has been in development, but it's always been an easy fix if you know whats happening. I've attached a couple of examples that I use for reference. I use a mask vs. a solid.

Not a native AutoCAD/C3D tool but I have an addon called TOOLPAC by DOTSOFT that allows you to draw a wipeout or hatch to any shape. If memory recalls not to expensive and has about 2K other tools for basic CAD stuff that my folks would shoot me if I took away from them.

Put the hatch on a different layer and send it to back.  Yes, generally block objects inside the block go on layer zero (0).  I have seen this type of issue in many blocks with hatch when the hatch is on the same layer as the linework.

You can make your mask look like a circle by creating a many-sided polygon and then using the resultant polyline for the mask.
